Dear Members,

Sound & Vision has been appointed the sole India Distributor for Wilson Benesch products from UK.

Wilson Benesch is synonymous the world over for their carbon fibre speakers and their Full Circle Turntable with its unique carbon fibre tone arm.

The Full Circle has collected numerous awards including Best Turntable from Gramophone and HiFi News.
Germany’s journal Stereoplay made the system reference, and in the influential Japanese journal Stereosound its won the accolade of “Best Buy”.

The critics endorsement of the A.C.T. Loudspeaker can be seen in the awards and Reference status that it has established throughout the world.
It became Reference in Germany and collected 6 other awards in other key markets including two in Japan.

Japan awarded the A.C.T. design "The Grand Prix Award".

What Hi-Fi uses the Discovery Loudspeakers as their Reference system.

Every speaker from Wilson Benesch has been awarded the five star status.

The Torus Infrasonic Generator (they dont call it a subwoofer) is arguably one of the finest subwoofers in the world. One of the architects is Richard Lord (REL) himself.

I used to lust after a W-B Discovery some time back. the innovative upward facing driver was pretty intriguing and surprisingly does not interfere with the midrange.

this is the first time i am hearing about the Torus though..pretty interesting read. i need to do some reading up to understand that better.

Congratulations and wish you all the best on the distributorship !

Dear ALS/Manek/Arj,

Thanks a lot for your wishes. I strongly believe in the brands i distribute.
I was looking for a speaker brand for Cyrus and Wilson Benesch (besides being a great high end speaker brand) gels well with Cyrus.
But its primarily the entry level speakers that can be used with Cyrus.
Now ofcourse the challenge remains to get in another high end electronics brand which is of the pedigree to do justice to the mid to high end speakers of WB.
Infact i already have shortlisted an electronics brand which can drive the Curve, Discovery, A.C.T. & the Chimera

Dear Arj, my new showroom will be up and ready in a couple of months.
By then i shall have some of the Odyssey range with me in stock for you to hear.

Regards
SNV

Dear Kamal,

Unfortunately no, atleast not in the near future.

Honestly, i do not know of a dealer in Delhi who would be willing to invest in Wilson Benesch speakers. Their range starts from about 1.5 lacs for a bookshelf.

Sir, you may have got that the other way round. ND is where the action is;;;
I love your city.
Great place, lovely people, rocking food, lots and lots of money & people love to spend it. Bombay is a city fit for old persons that live on pensions.

Good audio definately has a bigger market in ND. The dealer / distributor just needs to work on the ego of the delhi client and the sale will be done.

I love WB - in fact I was very very seriously considering the Chimera for my listening room. However, that particular WB - Discovery had disappointed me. I had auditioned it a few years back in Singapore. Looks to die for. Was playing through Metronome + dcS + Jadis + Gryphon + Alpha Core-Goertz etc. The front end and electronics were the best that one could ask for, however, it never gave me the desired result. Same set up, 3 days later, speaker changed to Rockport Merak & boy o boy what it did to me !!!!

I would like to hear the WB's again - the Discovery, i.e.
I was actually lusting after the Bishop, but it got pulled out. So now the Chimera is the top product, I think. It was nice, but the condition under which I auditioned it, was not correct, hence, I want to hear it again.
Someday, in Pune - maybe, I pray. Fingers are X-ed.

All the best to Jay for WB.
It is a great product, needs great electronics and front end. Can surely excel.

Bhagwan, I too love my city, but plz read the post of SNV which was the reason for my remark.
The sad fact is that many noteworthy brands are unrepresented in Delhi. The reason, acc to SNV, is that your perception is not shared by the dealers in Delhi, and hence they are reluctant to invest, since they look at it from a purely business point of view;for them HiFi is just another commodity, not a passion.
I am waiting for the day when this perception changes.

Honestly, IMO Delhi has more potential than Mumbai.

The people in Delhi certainly have deep pockets, but not the hifi dealers.
It does get difficult to stock high end models for any dealer.

Bhagwan, give me a couple of months i will make you hear the Discovery with the right electronics. Its all about synergy.
