Hi All !

I had good fortune of attending Mark Knopfler Concert, Belgrade, Serbia on 11 June 08. It was really an enthralling experience with great experience and music (both new & old). Here are some glimpses:

Did you have a seat close to the stage... or a Great Zoom Lens ?

Dr..those re some fantastict shots !. what lens/setting did u use ?
i tried a stage shot recently with a 11-22 lens at 2.8 at 400 ISO..No Joy

Fast lens 1.8 or better , min 300 mm on tripod or USM / OS type.

Madhav,

I Speculate that a very long focal length was not used for the shot, since the low light necisitates a relatively large aperture, but that would severly reduce the Depth Of Field.

The Depth Of Field is pretty good in this pic...

You may note that the lenses for these two shots and the setting are very different. I was also all the time manually controlling the exposure compensation in all the shots.

I was sitting about 50 m from the stage - actually standing on the chair to take these shots.

Hello Sanjay,

Excellent photos. You have got very good result at high ISO with D200, which is not known for its low noise performance

I bet that organ recital was something to cherish for a lifetime or atleast I am hoping it was. I know how soul cleansing a live organ recital can be....our systems couldn't come close.

I made the most musical & photographic use of my time in Europe. And the organ recital was sheer bliss.

And the best part of a live concert is that you don't have to worry about the equipment, recording & setup
