Female Audiophiles

Guys, after reading posts abt wives being the reason why we hear less etc(Sanjay's crack, I think),I just got pondering on the fact that I at least ,don't know of any Lady audiophiles-Is there some genetics involved or is it just my unique experience?In my relationship circle, the ladies who are fond of music are content with 2 in 1's/MP3 players-not one shows any inclinaton to get herself an audiophile qlty rig.
Is there some profound truth here?
Since most of you are heavily into(!) females AND HiFi,
I am expecting some lively insights & comments

well my thory on this is simple, take any topic and you will find that men are more interested in the "technicalities" and women only on the result

cars
photography
architecture
furnitture

etc etc

same in music.. women are interested in the music and men in how it is made and reproduced and all the other technical facets in between

hence you have male audiophile and women who are more interested to enjoy music

Hello,

Your answer lies in a country tucked away in the far-east.. Taiwan. I was there for an audio show in the year 2005 and was stunned to see the number or ladies queing-up for the "Hot Seat". I have never seen soo many women at an audio show.

The reason that it doesnot exist in our country or city is because the woman is not made aware of the intricacies or the details to start with. It is up to us to help her generate the interest. Its similar to a lot of "Male" stuff. Teach her or explain her over/under steer and grip levels and traction and conering speeds and she shall enjoy the drive much more.

my friend, are you suggesting that the mle race is superior and that men have to guide women thru so that they understand stuff ?

Perfectly said;

Men are 'Audiophiles'
Women are 'Music Lovers'

This is a general statement !

There may be exceptions, but by and large it is rather difficult to find ladies that are audiophiles.

Sir, to explain over steer & under steer, one has to make the lady sit in the car and demonstrate it. If you try and make her sit in a car that goes even remotely fast, it is all over. They get paranoid. So to try and expalin is very very difficult.
