Linn appoints new Managing Director

Another press release from Linn:

Linn Products Limited, independent Glasgow based manufacturer of precision engineered music, home
theatre and multi-room entertainment systems, has announced the appointment of Peter Murphy as
Managing Director, effective from 1 May 2006, with Ivor Tiefenbrun MBE assuming the role of Executive
Chairman.

Ivor said “I am delighted Peter has accepted the position of Managing Director and I have complete
confidence in his ability to lead and grow the business. Peter brought 20 years of business and
commercial experience with him when he joined Linn 8 years ago and has a comprehensive understanding
of the business; he has led Linn’s current senior management team for the last 18 months and has
previously filled various top management positions within the company including Group Director of Finance
and President of Linn’s US subsidiary, Linn Inc.”

“As Executive Chairman my new role will focus on chairing Linn’s Board of Directors, representing the
company at the highest level and helping to develop key business relationships.“

Linn systems are precision engineered to ensure the most accurate sound reproduction and can be found
in the world’s finest homes, superyachts and supercars.

Phew thats some news about Peters

One left Plinius and another appointed as MD for Linn..So what next Prithvi??

Yeah, I heard that Peter Thomson of Plinuis has left as well....

So, I really wonder where it will leave Plinius as a brand. Peter Thomson and Gary Morrison as we all know were the two guys who started Plinius and were mainly responsible for its signature sound and voicing.

Then you mean Plinus would be one big mango with only seed left and no pulp on it..

Sub Boss...dont quite know about being a mango with no pulp....but it surely wont be Plinius as we know it.

C'mon Manek I always dreamt of buying their Class A power amp and settle in audio to glory..this can't happen to us..boohoooo..What do you exactly mean by Plinius won't be Plinius anymore?? you mean the unique signature sound would be gone..then prices for used Plinius might go up???

Better save up for one before it becomes a Monarchy collectros item

Guys,
dont jump the gun, thank god Gary the chief designer is still there at Plinius and am sure they will still churn out great stuff till he is there.

Looks like lot of action happening in the hi-end segment these days.

When the founder member leaves a company, its never a bed of roses for any company as the value systems move with the outgoing person.....as I said earlier, we'll just have to wait and watch.
