Marantz CDP Modifications

Do you know any one who can modify my CDP with some Black gate Caps and a dedicated clock. I got these from UK. My CDP is Marantz 6000 OSE. I am in Bangalore

not sure of the benefits just the clock & Blackgates would do. when you do it also strngthen the casing, the transport (Via Damping) as well as change upgrade the diodes and the op-amps.

(67& 6000 can do with the same mods..)
Usually changes in CDP are very diffucult to make out hence would suggest you go that route only if you feel you are missing something in the music and the same is not due to your speakers...

Clock upgrades are even much more diffcult to make out. usually very good isolation and damping can take care of it.

would suggest you hold this mod for now and when you do , go the whole hog.. turns out cheaper..

i heard accoustic material used in Cars (Should be available in any car audio shop) is very good.

But do talk to the person suggested by Prithvi as he may have a better idea..

I checked out the Service manual for 6000 OSE , In the manual it's mentioned that the 6000 uses the 2114 OP-AMP , but OSE uses HDAM . I didnt see any mention of replacing HDAM components in the 67 mods you suggested.

Will let you know if I find anythng more. I will try looking up for more information

This works VERY well with entry level CDps. My NAD521BEE has its output biased in Class A and with the muting resistor removed..the sound is very smooth and much more fleshy around the midrange.
the change in Asha Bhonsles voice before and after was very very apparent.
