Ooops. It´s me once again... one more thing. The cable´s got some arrows that indicate the direction nevers seen something like this...

arrows indicate direction to use them, many speaker and interconnect cables have these markings. i don't know the cables - havent heard them - but maybe i find something about them.

Good speaker cables are by Kimber for example. They don't make the sound better (see thread "kimber cable") but they look good!

I know arrow indicates the direction I wanna know if it´s normal, because I havent seen this on other cables.

If you're happy with you cables, don't change them. I think your dealer just wants to sell some additional things like cables e.g.
So if you don't need them don't buy them. You'll get happy with your old ones, too.

Anyway I´ll buy a new pair of speakers and I wanna use a good cable. Surely I won´t buy them, I´ll use one of the cables I have here. That´s why I wanna know if are good cables or not.

I have ask for a catalogue in one of my dealers and I see cables that cost more than 23.000 EURO (about $23.000) with 2,44m. so I better use my cables or buy some cheaper cables

good cables have their price. and really good cables are really expensive. $23000 is a high price for cables but i wouldnt consider it overpriced.
but of course cheap cables are good, too.
even a perfect cable wont really improve. it will just make sure that the other components can do their best (but of corse this is an improvement to a simple cable!).

the safest thing to do is spend 10% of your equipment cost into cables.

with that one cant go wrong...

Its to do with the way the molecules have been aligned during production. If you were to wire the speakers up with one correct and the other in correct you may notice a slight difference in sound. Just as you would if you wied the speakers out of phase.

yes, very good choise. maybe some other cables are better, but van den hul makes good cables at very good prices.

Not yet. I want to have finished my system first. I need an amp, I´m waiting for a pioneer dvd and next week I´ll repair my grundig cd player.

what amp will you use?

The Technics one I´m afraid... I´ve got here a valve Pioneer, but I must repair it. It´s got very loud noise in one channel and I´m not sure if I can use it with the 603, even only the channel that has not noise.

get the noise sorted out buddy even before you hook them on...

Of course I´ll do it but it´s a very old amplifier, and even it sounds very very good it has no protection of any kind. So if something brokes it can waste my speakers. If a condensator brokes for example and it sends continuous voltage to my speakers... hmmm you know

So I don´t know what to do because I can´t buy an amplifier better than that (it´s a very good amplifier) but even it´s unprobable it can broke my speakers, like any old amplifier.

take it to the service station and see what they say about it ? they should give you info on the general health of this amp.

a circuit whic is connected after the speaker terminals of the amplifier and before the speakers.

I´ve founded the schematic datagram so now I can fix it I´ve seen that it has a transformator out to the speakers and continuous voltage can´t pass this transformator so I´ve got a good tube amp

I´ll repair it this friday I think, we´ll se...

do make sure that the transformer is working well...

Of course I´ll do it. I wont connect that amp to my speakers before checking everything.

They´re totally ok

But the ones in the photo are the bad ones. I´ll make another page when my new system is finished, with the Pioneer tube amp, the Grundig cd player and a Pioneer DVD.

But if you by now have some really good b&W speakers it looks like your old ones were a bit damaged? Or weren't they?

I´m not totally sure... my dealer said they were ok and he won´t change them for another ones so he´s not my dealer anymore This time I have bought them to another person who made me a 35 percent discount over the normal prize, so I have paid only 617 euro/$ for them

By the way I have fixed my tube amp it was only a broken resistence. Now I must replace all the electrolitic condesators (will it be its name in english??) because it has a little noise, a little... hmmm I don´t know how to say it, like when you put a bad amp very loud, you hear some noise, that´s waht my amp has now and I´ll repair it replacing the electrolitic condensators. The problem is that I must buy them, I can´t do it tomorrow and this monday is holiday here so I must wait until next week

Next step is the repair of the cd player (I must see it but I think I must change the electrolitic condensators of it´s power supply) and I´ll have my DVD in two or three weeks

Hmmmmm by the way, my new dealer has given me some very very good cables to test the with my father´s system. Wait I´ll make them a photo...

This Sunday... not yet. My father´s not here today and he will play billiard with my balls if I touch his system.

I don´t know how he did it... he knows my father and he works for Thomson. It´s a representant, but he has not anything from Thomson in his house He´s got two systems. The "bad" one is miles better than mine. The good one... lol. I´ll take some photos (I he doesn´t care) because I´ll go to his house someday.

By the way he said to my father that the 603 are are shit and he recommended me the ones of his "bad" system, a pair of Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE Mk II. But I don´t like them, they´re ugly

there are some bookshelf speakers that sound better than floorstanders, i guess this dynaudio is one of these speakers.
but take a look at the bigger contour speakers they are nice too! and if you have the possibility try to listen to an evidence speaker.
