Hi all, was really inspired by the thread at diy audio.com on Seas Thors. Thor uses very expensive Seas drivers like W18E001 woofers and T25CF002 "MILLENNIUM" tweeter mounted in a D'Appolito configuration. These drivers are beyond my budget & reach, so i decided to make a clone of the Small Thor speakers using the same cabinet except for the drivers which was procured from beloved Soundsgreat (Sreekanth). On testing, the Mid range quality was much better than Vifa P17, so i decided to experiment on these drivers.

In this modified design there is a solid brace behind the driver ( Mid-woofer magnets should fit tightly to notch) this transfer & distribute the energy from the driver to the back of the cabinet & the other one runs parallel with the baffle notch. Brace needs to be filled with random holes. It has 4" long & 3 " dia port at the back. I am building this for a cousin of mine here in Bengaluru.

There are some really good things being said about Soundsgreat's DIY speaker on the other forum.

Is your design similar?

Yes krish, sreekanth has done lot of R&D on his driver for better mid reproduction, my design is not similar to sreekanth's design. Mine is a modified version of seas thor for better bass reproduction. I was really inspired by the thread at diy audio.com on Seas Thors, so i decided to experiment on his drivers.
