Good RCA male plugs

Hi all,

I am looking for some good RCAs for an interconnect.
Need ones which will fit wire upto 8mm (it means that they need to accept slightly large guage wire).
Not looking very expensive ones like the WBT etc….Looking for great quality but slightly lower priced ones like Cardas, vampirewire, VDH etc….
Are there dealers in India who deal in these parts ?

Check out with a good MX dealer.

MX offers a good range of RCAs, with Hard gold plating.

They are Chinese but Good Chinese

Priced in the range of Rs 50 to Rs 150.

No Neutriks for me. Do not like MX stuff.

Any other suggestions ? Are there any dealers in Mumbai who stock cardas ? They have really VFM plugs which are quite good.

I had the opportunity once to get hold of two pairs of cardas plugs from ARN systems and replaced the MX which I had used earlier. Improvement across the board !

Lakozy should have supra and vdh

Profx will have qed

You could try monster rca's.

Jay from pune could have some.

....And a lot depends on soldering quality.

Not sure what cables you plan to solder the connectors to but as amp_nut said mx makes decent hard plated connectors. They sell close to 8-10 different types.

The premium quality "joint" brand of solder(60/40) is decent for entry-mid level cables.

Learnt both of the above the hard way.

@ampnut,

I got them for around 2500 for 4 of them. They were lying around with ARN with no use. They do not stock them. I am sure they cost more if they were to be sold retail.

I am willing to spend around 3k for 4 RCAs.

Let me see if it all will work out. First glance it looks a bit costly. The VDH ones.

Yeah

The boutique plugs will be expensive.

You could try qed or amphenol gold plated rca.
VFM and does the trick.

I do prefer the 60/40 joint solder in green package cause that flows the best. Real smooth. So I mostly use that for pcb work with a light soldering iron and small tip.

But I also use lead free solder by khosla eng in pune for interconnects. They do have a very interesting blend of 96.5/3.5/0.5 of tin/copper/silver. A heavier iron and tip would be needed here(25 watts and above). It doesn't flow as well as the "joint" solder hence used on hard metal surfaces.

Yes

I bought mine from skyking agency, bang onto the main road.

Actually he does have a few good things. Very happy with the bench power supply I got from him, Soldering iron, solder tips, multimeters etc...
