best 7.1 AVR???

Have you selected the speakers for this setup. Sometimes a lot depends on matching the characteristics of the receiver and speaker.

Getting it from abroad?, Have U checked the warranty issue, Actually I wanted to do that , but thibking twice now because Onkyo, Denon clearly mentioned that the warranty is not valid in India, Just an input for your decision.
Actually, How important the warranty for AVRS, One can save good 50% if sourced from abroad, so does the risk-return ratio favours buying abroad

i personally think does-
saving 50% and more some time

positive thinking never killed anyone-

plus these brands have been there for some time-
and are known for their reliability and sturdiness

Electronics have a burn in period. Try picking up an open box unit while you are abroad. If you are picking up speakers from there as well, I would suggest burnin while you are there. Most of the failures will be in the initial few days of overuse. You should not expect major problems after the electronics have burned in.

You can place two matching speakers facing each other and connect them electrically out of phase. Set the receiver in high volume. The voice is generated out of phase and tends to cancel out resulting in low output (so you do not have cops at your door step). Once you have run this in for a week or continuous use, you know you do not have a problem.

In the worst case, you can get the receiver serviced in India outside the normal channel. If I were you, I would not worry too much about it as warrenties last for only one year. I guess you would anyway be charged in thousands once your normal warrenty expires.
