Hi folks,

I am not sure whether or not this post is right for this sub group, but I require some help on the specs of the Shure M 55E cartridge. Since I am making an RIAA equalized pre amp stage particularly for this cartridge I am keen on knowing its input load impedance and capacitance. I tried the net but could not locate this figure although the other specs are available.

Would appreciate some feedback if possible.

Thats not what I am looking out for. The standard specs, viz. Tracking weight, frequency response, stylus measurements, replacement stylus nos. etc.are available.

What I specifically require is its inductance or its recommended load in kohms /loading capacitance in pf. This is required to optimize its high frequency peak.

If you are DIY'ing your phonostage, then i would recomennd 6DJ8 in front followed up by 5814 type. Simple and cheap! Once you get the setup up and running, try CCS for the first stage. Will beat any high $$$ commercial stuf.

You my try loading the 6DJ8 with a FET input if it does not wound your pride.
