MKIII Jargaon

In many brands I can see this Jargaon "MKIII" in the suffix.

Can anyone please throw some light on this?

It means 1 of the following :

1. They did not get it right the 1st time, nor the second time, nor.... this is just 1 more attempt.

2. They got it right the first time. They dont want to tamper with sucess, but the marketing guys want a new product, so they have re-badged it.

3. Its a new design but the original model was the best selling the company EVER made, so they are using the original name, to attact buyers

How about...

They got it right the first time, but mods were possible, so they upgraded a few components and gave it a new version name.

mods done to a product that makes you wonder why they did not do it the first time itself? most of the times its technology or parts that existed even then. probably they just got smarter over the years. genuine some time, a marketing deal sometime. a lot of bands also have markI, markII, mark III line ups

including my fav deep purple.

Take ambassador the best example..... Land master to mArk 1, 2 ,3 4 and later nova..

good points, my take is that your points 2 and 3 are the most common as this is very very marketing driven to ensure that the brand built initially is continued ..

regarding point 1, i think they prefer doing it with a BEE , KI,OO et etc i gies many have random alphabets in their name
