I recently purchased a Lyra Wireless RD900W unit so I can play music on my PC on my Hi-Fi. The unit requires that I plug the receiver into either the AUX or Line inputs of the Hi-Fi.

However, I have an old Technics system that doesn't have either of those two input types only a PHONO input for audio.

Sound does come out when plugged into the PHONO input but completely garbled and muffled.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do without having to buy new equipment?

Hey!

As far as I know you can use a special device to modify your incoming signals to fit phono-in-standards, this should solve your sound problems.
At the moment, i don'T know how they are named but I'll try to find out.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the reply. Presumably this is not a pre-amp you are talking about as those are used when there is no PHONO input.

If there is a device I would be grateful for pointers to where I can get one.

Cheers,
Stuart

Hey!

Now I got it, it's called "Inverse RIAA converter", more information can be found here.

Hope this helps.

Hi Frank

This certainly looks promising. Thanks for finding it for me - I will contact the company for more details.

Hey again!

Price may be from around 23 pounds and rising.

Maybe we can find a online shop where you get it?

Yes I was going to do another search in Google to see if it or something similar (now I know the name) was available for purchase online. I am living in Arizona (although I am a Brit), so it would be better if I could find a supplier in the US.
