Inputs on an AVR

Hi All!
A bit of a technical question.
Are all inputs (RCA) on back of my AVR the same technically?
I mean if i plug my DVD player into the CD OR the TV input instead of the DVD input will it sound the same?
Also does anyone knows the Official custom duty for importing HIFi components? I read on the customs website it is 15%?

actually its nice that you pointed out that import duty is 15%. its come down from last year but the pricing of hifi products havent come down since last year much. Dealers/manufacturers still keep the prices up and make more profits :-)

BTw the AVR question would be better suited for the "Surround" section.

Yes it will be the same.
u can actually reassign them using the OSD or ur remote in some of the more 'nerwer' AVR models.
i am presently using the CD coaxial input for inputting signals from my H/K DVD. However, there is a optical input with the naming DVD.
it is purely for keeping track of sources.

sorry to post the AVR question here . But this stereo section is the fastest 'moving' section.With the max number of postings

Gentlemen,

Kindly excuse me for continuing with this post in the stereo section.

Betel, while playing Cds, it wouldnt make any difference if you connected your DVD player to the CD or DVD RCA inputs on your AVR. For 5.1 channel DVDs however, you would need to use either a coaxial or Toslink cable.

Fast moving or not.....
The rule still applies, all questions regarding AVR's in the surround section please.
