Hi all! I am willing to by my first HIFI integrated amplifier to start building my own Stereo System. At present, I would only buy an integrated amp plus a couple of speakers. I'd be ready to spend around 500 EU for the ampli and 600 E for the speakers. I've been listening some products and really liked the following: NAD 350, Marantz PM7200, Cambridge Audio Azur640. What would you suggest? I listen (and play) a lot of classical guitar music but also progressive metal (dream theater, ...) I am looking for an amp which would be able to play all music well. Thanks for your help. Marco |

Hi, The Cambridge Audio Azur640 is really good..but so ar the others...Since Speakers have the most say in the sound, might be a good Idea that you decide on them first and them buy an Amp which is the best match for that.. The speakers power requirement as well as the tonal characteristic would help determining the best Amp for that speaker. cheers! |

concerning the speakers, in the range of price of 600E, I have found the JMLab Chorus 714 S. But I also like Triangle Zerius and B&W 602 S3. JMLab are more neutre while Triangle has stronger mids and highs. What would you suggest? |

I am slightly biased towards the JM labs followed by the Triangles...Have really liked both french speakers. The traingles have a much more benign load and apparenly are good for low powered tubes as well..but do not go down low enough in its bass response. If it is BAss you look for the B&W's would give you more of that, but for musicality it should be the JM labs ! In both of the above the NAD320BEE might prove to be a much better match as both of these are slightly forward (Not Bright !) speakers and the warm sound of the NAD really should sound good with them. The cambridge Azur is also apparenly good but have not really heard it. The Marantz is Too powerful for any of your choices..have preferred both the NAD as well as the Rotel RA02 to that. If you go for the 320BEE, That should leave you with a Good budget for a CDP and if you are on the lookout, the Rega planet foll0wed by the Arcam 73 get my vote ! [Beitrag von Arj am 29. Also..if you have liked the triangles, then you could give the QUAD12L a try as well. In psite of being a standmount it has a equally good bass response. Even the Mission/Jamo ranges might be to your liking...But my first preference is to the JM lab |

there are other very good entry level amps like roksan kandy and arcam A65 etc. The nad 320bee mentioned is also a very good amp which I happen to own and love. I also suggest you choose your speakers and then get the amp to match it. JM labs is definately the fron runner but I would give quad 12L a very carefull hearing as they too are quite stellar. if you can afford the 21L even better. Do also hear the jamo E-855. they might be to your liking and may fit your budget. I have not heard the triangle's so cant comment on them. manek |
