ahh favorite rock bands. difficult to pick just one, but i think i go for roxy music. their first two albums are magnificent, and particularly "for your pleasure" ranks high on my old-time-high-list (in fact on the top). with å more broad definition of "rock", i would however substitute roxy with pentangle. a band that have both john renbourn, burt janch and danny thompson has to be something special (and in fact is).

Deep Purple, Cream, BBM (Baker, Bruce, Moore), Jefferson Airplane.

pentangle is a english folk rock band. they are very skillfull. if you like folk rock they come highly recomendable.

Almost all the known Rock Bands have some good song(s). Depends on whether you have had the opportunity to hear them in the right state of mind.

Yeah. I bought the Octavarium CD.
It is good, the title track is 24 minutes and it is still awesome. Although the full album is nothing close to Scenes from memory...

SFAM is probably the greatest prog metal album of all time...octavarium does not come even close to it...but at least its better than ToT...

Right you are...It is definitely the best prog metal album I have listened. Queensryche's "Operation:Mindcryme" is also excellent.
