Picked up a few of Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahebs' Cds recently-its heartbreaking that so few are stocked by the music shops, even big ones'-even tho I can't hear them bec of my busted woofer.
I have had the privilege of attending some of his recitals-to me, he represents the finest in Hindustani Classical Music:I can't see anyone even remotely near him-not his son Ustad Shujaat Hussain, nor his nephew, Ustad Shahid Parvez,even tho they're very good in their own right.
Truly an era passed with Vilayat Khanji's passing away in 2004.

Particularly apt as a pet name, would'nt you say?

I think 'Avita' sounds better than 'Anina'! 'Avita' is from newer generation, innovative and sophisticated and it is sweet sounding.
