Which 21" TV ?

Hi Buddies,
I am planning for a 21" CRT TV.
There is another thread going on about TVs but thats about 29" TVs. Specifically I am looking at 21" TVs.
Sound quality is not a critereon...Just going by the Picture quality and other important features like Component video input, Signal Booster etc etc...Which TV should be the best to consider ??

I have conducted a preliminary research around the shops at Bangalore:
TVs I have seen are
1. Sony
2. LG
3. Philips
4. Samsung
5. Onida
6. Sanyo

I havent seen Panasonic yet.
To my eyes Sony was the best among them. It was connected to Tata Sky Cable connection.
Please let me know at the earliest what do you guys have to suggest. I am on the verge of the purchase .

hey abhi,

sony is good. got one myself. a 21 inch. there are a couple of models that differ (read increase in price) because they have a set top woofer and sound differences. the other picture-related features are the same. u can save a couple of grand by buying the basic one. check to see the other features are the same. the so called sound improvements were anything but to my ears. more volume and bass but quality nopes.

though i have to say philips tvs are reputed to have better picture quality than sonys especially in the black resolution. but check it out for yourself. personally i prefer a sony cos i know nothings gonna happen for a long long while.

got yourself some stands yet? that will be an excuse to come over again

I know Philips are good but it looks like at bare entry level even they are just so-so...

Sony in turn looked better.

Stands..nopes...will let you know once its in.
