hey ... i checkd out the trinity sound n vision showroom.. this guy also sells stuff without papers ...so prices can go down.. the prices he is giving me are 8-10% less than the prices mentioned on www.profx.com (the distributors in india) .. i currently have 3 options

(5.1 package)

Polk Audio Monitor 60 - Floorstanders 25000
Polk Audio Monitor 40 - Surrounds 13700
Polk Audio CS2 - Center Channel 11700
Polk Audio PSW 505 - Subwoofer 26500
Denon 2106 ... (35K with papers..sum offer going on so instead of the 43000price its available for 35k )

also i went to the jbl showroom n checkd out this package - (7.1 package)

The package price is 159500 but the guy told me thers sum offer ...all this for 135000..

the avr comes with a 3yr warranty n the speakers come with a 1 year warranty.

this package was decent..


Personally i found the polk audio speakers with the denon amp very gud. also the prices ..and the specifications of the polk speakers were better.

AVANT 902 speakers for surrounds.

To my ears the Polks are quite bright and harsh...especially when combined with a Denon amp...I've heard the HT setup with AVR 1906 and Monitor 60s with the stereo amp PMA655

I would suggest the Denon AVR with the Mordaunt Short spkr package...or the Marantz package...

...but at the end of the day, go with ur ears...

My take is...

Sonodyne Sonus Speaker Package + Sonodyne 6 channel Audio Processor + Sonodyne 6 channel Power amp. All under 1 Lac.

It beats all the above mentioned packages by miles....IMO.

Not sure if you can get them under the same roof...try some multi-brand dealers like sound of music or ask the denon dealer to accompany you to the MS dealer with the AVR...

That would be an uphill task...

i agree disk,,,first goin to denon...then asking him to go to MS..and requesting MS for getting Denon..

I also tried denon 1906 with Jamo..
It sounded quiet nice.

Another option is to find someone who owns a Denon AVR and take it with you...

hmm.... thtats again gonna be a hello of a task.. i dont know anyone with a 1906 ...gawd..this is bad.. n delhi doesnt hav many hi-fi showrooms...mumbai for example has good showrooms..wish i could go to mumbai to get my hi-fi stuff !! it would be greatt...
but i m stuck here in delhi ...

hmmm...tuff beans...see if anybody from this forum is from Delhi and owns a Denon...worth a shot...

BTW, even the Marantz-MS combo should be a good one. Also, try out the Yamaha AVRs (the MS dealer in Blr also keeps yammies).

I think, Sharda Motors also deals with Boston, you may want to check out their speakers as well...try the VR1 & the CR series...
