Azur reliability?

yeah i know a friend who asked for a home demo for the CDP and it packed up.

Sold a 640a/640c to a client two months back and till now not a single problem.

Hi.

I own the combo 640C and 640A since several months (~9).
I have only experienced that the CAP5 (protection system of the amp) is extremely sensitive, and it can shut the unit down when unplugging a source, or the headphones, if the volume knob is not at its lowest.
The finishing of the speaker binding posts is very poor (but I use banana plugs, and it does not matter at all), and the volume knob feels a little loose.

Once I run it in more than enough, I played quite loud music, more than I would ever normally listen to, and I tell you it does not show up any strain, even past 12 o'clock, it still goes louder but clean.

The cd player never gave me a problem. Although it is rather noisy spinning discs, you cannot hear it when you listen to low music 2,5 meters away from the player. There is also this low frequency hum, which I could only hear when I read about it in internet, and put my ear near the unit. It should not be a problem. And it is amazingly fast reading cds and ejecting.

My only concern was the remote control, which arrived with a crack on the plastic cover of the transmitter, then I got it swapped and this one failed a couple of times. I was told by a Cambridge guy that the first remotes gave some problem, and now it should be fixed, so I have to ask for a new one.

And then you have the sound. Man, no complaints in this aspect at all. What else can I say?

I bet you can get something similar for the money, depending on your musical tastes. I mean, if you prefer a laid back sound, or more "vivid", etc. But I do not think you can beat the system for that money. I searched quite a lot, and I ended up there.
