Hi all! just wondering if anyone can help me. after recently doing a house party running a set of cheap decks through my yamaha ax 396 amplifier it has started to cut out when a certain volume is reached. i have tried reconnecting the speakers at both ends and this doesnt seem to have solved the problem. i was wondering if it could have overheated and caused some kind of problem. i have had a look inside but dont know much about this, is there any way of identifying the protection circuit or any other suggestions anyone has which could prevent this cut out from occuring? thanks! dave |

is there an option to switch off/on the protection circuit? maybe there could be something wrong....maybe the speakers you connected are drawing a lot of power(current). do you have any other spekaers to test it with ? Manek. |

I use nad aplifiers only and have dont so for a long time. They have a sliding switch at the back called soft clipping. This protects the speakers when using them in high volume mode. I thought maybe you amp may have something like this too. I would suggest a sevice station. If the problem persists befor something else goes wrong. manek. |
