Rogers is one of the most famous speakers brand in England. Since 1947, Rogers of England has been synonymous with quality audio equipment.Through creativity and innovative ideas, founder Jim Rogers produced a succession of consistently improved and refined systems. An early example was the Rogers Theatrical Horn Loudspeaker which proved to be both commercially and acoustically successful and established Rogers as a reliable and innovative manufacturer of quality equipment. In the early 70s, Rogers was commissioned by the B.B.C. to produce the legendary LS3/5A. Some 50,000 pairs have been built worldwide to date. Meanwhile, LS 5/8 and LS 5/9 Grade One Studio Monitors are exclusive Rogers/B.B.C. designs and have been readily accepted in recording studios worldwide! In order to satisfy the needs of our customers, Rogers brought out the LS 3/5a model, the Studio range and the LS series. These proved to be extremely popular and enabled the company to develop into the organization known today. The 1990s saw the introduction of the remarkable P series, the new Studio range and the LS series. The most classic model of Rogers speaker is LS3/5a System Type : Two-way infinite baffle (closed box) Frequency Response :70Hz - 20kHz +/- 3dB Sensitivity :83dB for 2.83V @1m Bass / Midrange Driver :138mm Tweeter :19mm Crossover :Frequency 3kHz. Hi petereatapple Do you work for Rogers or associated with them commercially ? The Rogers LS3/5a Speaker was the most well known internationally - thanks atleast in some part to Ken Kessler's rave Repeated references.... As you have mentioned, the LS3/5a was infact designed by BBC and Rogers ( and some other speaker manufacturers) paid a Royalty to BBC to manufacture and sell these speakers, EXACTLY as per the BBC design... |

Jeff Bagby has been making a clone of the LS3/5a and selling it through the salk sound. http://salksound.com/continuum%20-%20home.htm Apparently this design takes the LS3/5a to the next level by using more advanced speaker technologies All for 1300 $ [Beitrag von square_wave am 21. Mr. Moderator, if all the other regulars on this particular forum are OK with this, please remove this post. This post sure sounds like a troll & appears to be advertising. Like Amp_Nut, I ask: does this fellow work for Rogers??? [Beitrag von bombaywalla am 21. Jan 2011, 18:27 bearbeitet] |
