Could someone give a review on Mordaunt Short 902i Bookshelves? Marantz is currently marketing the MS speakers and I read in an article that MS speakers are being made to gel with the Marantz Amps. and in the trade shows recently, Marantz displayed MS speakers also in their booth! |

MS's sound quality is not upto the mark. I had an audition with 902 and 904 but not satisfied. Now Marantz also deals with Dali. Check out Dali concept 6 Have an audition with KEF as well... Really matching speakers for marantz.. |

They sell for Rs 10-12K a pair. For that money I feel they are really good. In all it depends on your budget. I dont think Dali is a right brand to compare with this. ( I may be totally wrong if Dali concept 6 is available for 10K. If so I take back the statement). You should audition this along with the basic polk audio monitor series or may be the wharfadale diamond series, sonodynes and then take your pick among them. |

Sharda Proacoustics, the Indian importer of Marantz also deals in Boston Acoustics speakers. I found Boston speakers cheaper and better than MS - worth auditioning. |

Hi Tim, If you dont have reservations against Indian brands, try Arasu's MTM bookshelves (I have heard them and they are superb) or Lyrita Audio full range Single driver bookshelf speaker...both are priced at around 18k. I suppose, these are the best money can buy at this price point. |

Lyritas single driver speakers(using the Fostek driver) are floorstanders, not bookshelfs. The bookshelf speakers in Lyritas' range are 2 way, using conventional drivers. Kamal |

Hi Kamal, Sorry, haven't updated you, but I have decided to stay with single, full-range speaker systems now. Once you've played with them, and listened to them, it's very difficult going back to multiple driver systems. So, the bookshelf system now uses the Fostex FE127E. After all the designs are finalized, I will put them up on the website. Viren. |

i wholeheartedly second that. kamal if you've heard his own sequel references you'll hear the difference between them and the harmonys. his philosophy of making equipment gels better with the intrinsic qualilites of coherence, unity of a single driver. bangalore guys can look forward to a listen sometime end of month. am a little tied up right now. and dont want to share them just right now tim, do listen to the ms 902is. i found them pretty good with my valve amp. a very viable option. I believe the 902i's are VFM especially now that the price is down to just 10k rs/pair. Agree with Kvish - audition this, the diamond 9.1's, and the Polk Monitor 30 and 40 series. |

Well, I stand updated! Steve, we did do a side by side between the Sequels & the Harmonys & also between the valves & Lyritas SS Amp, & posted our experience; I whole heartedly agree with your impression & comment, of course. Viren, how abt an audition of the Single driver BS's? |

Dear Tim, At 10k the MS is a good bookshelf. Another speaker i would recommend at that price is the Diamond 8.1. If you can extend your budget then the Monitor Audio Bronze 2 is available at 15k. Regards SNV |

Hi SNV, Monitor Audio Bronze 2 was quoted 19K MRP from a dealer here in Bangalore. Also the dealer is not keen on reducing that price. Are you referring to 15K as MRP? If so in which city? Would you mind disclosing the dealer? Cheers! [Beitrag von Voodoo_CHild am 07. Feb 2007, 12:17 bearbeitet] |

Steve, Even though I'm new to hifi audio and have not yet heard any valves, I'm very interested to check them. Expecting an invite from you Cheers! |

Hi VC, Well, the Bronze series has been discontinued and now you have the Bronze reference series. The B2 has been replace by the BR2. Certain dealers are offering discounts on the B2 to sell their stocks. Regards SNV |
