Magneplanar 1.6 Speakers for Sale

Selling my 1.5 year old Magneplanar 1.6 Speakers. These are in mint condition and come with the original packing, manual and accessories.

They have upgraded crossovers which cost about US$500.00. Selling to upgrade to the Magneplanar 3.6. Asking price is 90K.

What is the US Retail price of the Magneplanar 1.6 Speakers ? Is it US $'s 1,675/- for new ? I am not sure. Please do let me know.

What was the Magneplanar 1.6 Speakers used with ? Partnering equipment ?

Can you give some details about the 'upgraded x-overs' ? Please.....

No sure about the US retail. Cost 1.20 from the dealer in India. Partnering equipment is:

Acoustic Reality EAR 1001 1000W Monoblock amps
Pass Labs X1 Preamp
Pioneer (Elite) DV-757ai Disc Player
MIT T2 Speaker Cables.
Synergistic Research Resolution Reference X2 interconnects.

Due to my location and the sheer bulk of shipping these speakers, demo's would be hard to do. You can go for a demo to AVI, the dealer in India.

The Xovers were upgraded using parts from Northcreek Audio and Sonic Craft. These included the capacitors, internal wiring, binding posts and inductors.

Why ?

Is the Wadia playing so well ? You do not find a need to upgrade !!!! Well done.
Keep the speaker.
Work on the REL Sub.
Buy 2 of them and get them to integrate well in the room, you will not need to sell the speaker.
How is the Wadia playing ?

Change the picture. The one you have posted above is with the Proceed & Pioneer [I think]. Put the one with the Wadia instead.

Yes the Wadia is playing very well. The Ceraballs have also been a great additon.

The REL Sub made a huge difference. One of the reasons for wanting to upgrade my Speakers to the larger Maggies was for the want of more low end extension. However, I was recommended not to make this decision as the problem was with my small room and not with the speakers. The larger maggies in fact need more space and hence would have probably made things worse.

The REL has addressed the bass issue and all's well now. Don't think I would need a second sub as this one's 'locked in' to my room pretty well.
