I am reluctantly putting my Sugden A21aL Int amp for sale.

this is the With Phono (aL )option so you can connect your turntable to it.

It is 4 years old and bought from Electrades at Singapore.

For those who dont know about it, it is one of the classic amplifiers and runs on Pure Class A and hand built. It has an output of 25Watts and can drive up to 86db speakers and used to run the Quad ESL 63 . The 25watts is highly deceptive as it has more grunt that the entry level 100W amps. It is one of those amplifiers which will give the closest to the tube sound with solid-state at this price

there are enough reviews on the web for this and was in the stereophile Class B list for a very long time. If anyone wants the reviews just drop me a mail and Ill send you a consolidated pdf.

The condition is sonically excellent. some marks are present in the bottom due to placement of DH cones (not exactly scratches) and there is a slight mark on the faceplate (not easily seen).

I have the original Box and packing material for this

Am expecting around 38K for this...usually sells for 750-800 USD. please PM me if interested. I am based in Bangalore and would prefer whoever buys it to audition it !

Again am selling it as I have upgraded to a Leben CS600 and although I preferred keeping this as a backup /second system for the past 2 months..need to create space at home

I know it does not feel very nice

but i found another and now am looking for a good home for this

Just kidding. But your offer is really a good option (at a rather attractive price) for those looking at upgrading from NAD, Cambridge Audio and other similar (chinese) products

new price of 36K + free Nordost Blue heaven IC pair for true Plug and play operability !
wanted to see if I can build a second system around it but dont have the time, space or WAF

Thanks!.Second system plans had to be swapped with an LCD tv for the bedroom

so have to put it on sale ..else it will sit around doing nothing at home

You could add the sugden to the lcd with an oppo player and watch live shows on dvd/blu-ray in the bed room

Did you really think i had not tried that

my wifes view is that I should be grateful she approves of my excesses on the hobby but using her needs to further it would be pushing it

BTW i am neither a movie person (except for some very specific ones) nor a TV person..

When I said “live shows” I meant live music shows not TV

There is a plethora of fine live performances available on dvd/bluray.

Ok..means i will have to gently break the news to her that after having a dedicated audio room, i can try and spread my audio empire into the bedroom as well

BTW the Visual audio was never my thing...i prefer the illusion of a soundstage with depth rather than a visual one...moment i "See" the music then my interest in hearing it wanes
