Confused between PSB, KEF and Tannoy as Floorstanders

Try the Acoustic potrait floorstanders..
i think their flagship model is called Ms-301..
Frankly, its the best you can get for that range.

You could however give the athena As-F a shot. I hear it is very good too.

since you drive your speakers with receiver-Onkyo, why shouldn't you try Jamo also? Going with Tannoy, KEF etc..I'm not sure what type of drive capabalities your receiver has got. Just try & see Jamo, if I'm not wrong model is E855 suits for HT applns well.

the jamo E350 is for 18k/pair at cinebels-
also Mordaunt-Short has some neat flrs in this range-

Well, if your budget is about 35k then i would recommend the
Tannoy Fusion 4 or the Monitor Audio Bronze 4.
Im sure your av receiver is pretty much capable of driving
these speakers. The point being, will you be making the most
of your speakers with an av receiver. I guess not. But atleast
you are future proof with your speakers and you could upgrade
to a better amp as and when you wish to. Try and get a demo
for the same. Make your choice. All the best.

Forget Jamo IMO, Try Athena (if you are in mumbai you are lucky), its highly acclaimed. Try Acoustics portrait as suggested by Benks. Look at Monitor Audio, Tannoy, Polk monitor70, Kef Q5. All of them are good. Try Dali its one of the best on VFM scale.

Foget about Q5..one of the worst in my opinion.
The Polks too are not that great at that price point.

I somehow liked Q5....still feel that its worth giving a listen. Cmon Benki....its not that bad...for 42k (after discount) I found it quite competitive. Ok we will listen to it together sometimes..

Dear ASR, I believe in mumbai you should be able to hear all these floorstanders with the ONKYO receiver of your choice.

This time I want to go to satisfy my curosity as in why I liked it and you didnt....there shouldnt be such a huge deviation in our ears....

Thanks a lot for your inputs !!!
I've checked out so many speakers till now. I should admit that I was impressed by Dali Blue 6006 and Canton LE 190. These two speakers have totally changed my opinion that you can get a very good speaker (a 3-way) within the 50k range. I didn't have high regards for these two brands, but after listening them on my receiver, I'm shaken. These speakers give a tough fight to the KEF Q7 , PSB T65 all of which are expensive (>60k).
Do share your thoughts and opinions about this.

Dear ASR,

If you are willing to spend around the 50k bracket,
then do consider the Monitor Audio silver s6.
IMO, its one of the finest speakers at that price.

The Canton LE 190 is arnd 48k and Dali Blue is arnd 45k. I tried my level best to get a good deal on MA RS6, infact S6 but somehow cldn't succeed to pull down below 51k which I felt was higher. So no matter how good it looks and the real wood veneer etc.... Ultimately what matters is the performance, which also is very good- I agree with you SNV. So had to head hunt for a substitute for MA in terms of price. I surely was surprised, taken aback by the performance of Canton LE 190. Even Dali Concept 8 (arnd 50k) didnt fail to impress me. On looks front, it's better than Blue 6006.
I can go pages praising them about how well the japanese drums sounded - Zakir husain tabla -Bhimsen Joshi Vocals -guitars. Tried everything on the entire frequeny range, but you got to hear them to be in agreement with me. Though I dont want to spark a fresh debate, but somehow I felt that these speakers due to the advantage/virtue of being 3 way did pronounce the sound quality with greater clarity. I would not mind going for a 2nd hand speaker (MA,Quad,Dynaudio,B&W included) for a good bargain but leave no stone unturned in my quest to get one of the best sounding speakers which are value for money. It should all be frozen this week. But your inputs would be very valuable. I have kept the adage of this forum "Trust your ears" very carefully in listening to the speakers.

Have you heard Dali's Blue 3003? What is your opinion about them?

Haven't heard the Dali Blue 3003.
The Canton LE 190 does not have spikes or provision for inserting one. Would it be a serious drawback. Is there a way to correct it if I buy the same.

Cadence did have some representation in Bombay [If I remember]. They used to be sold through Jacob - J & B Audio. He is at Bandra.

However, the Diva's may have over shot your budget in any case, 40K may not even get you the B & W's

There may be an Infinity that you could consider.

it has very good reviws as well ahs been very praised in other forums as well. the bookshelf is only around 100-200 USD but competed with speakers more than 3 times the cost.

quite sensitive too !

would highly recommend the wharfedale evo 30's check them out in that range
