DVD skipping/stopping problems

hi,
my 11 months old philips DVD player skips on some discs and stops on certain chapters/discs- i have tried the same discs at some friends places and they run superb-

my guess is the lens has gone dirty-
can there be any other problems?
and how do i solve my problem-

hey ani.....

the best way to solve wud be to go the phillips service center for ur problem but that wud cost u min 300 to open and tell the problem.....

Is it not under warranty ??

11 months means that the company should do the needful for you; 12 months is what is covered.

Call the company & see what they have to say.

I think all philips products dvd players come with a 6 months warranty....and so do all other local products....maybe I'm wrong..please check....

if u have purchased after july 05 then all the phillips DVD players carry a warranty of only 6 months......

If the player is 11 months old then it has been purchased in Jan, 2005. Hence the 12 month warranty should be there.

In any case, call the company & find out.
Alternately ask them [the company or dealer] to put you on to some person that is qualified enough to get the job done for you. I am sure that they will have a half descent source to put you on to.
