Best Enclosure Structure.... is it sphere?

Yes it is and i believe you got it from a book or a website..
There is a very famous diagram that depicts the dispersion of sound from a direct radiator when placed in diffferent types of baffles along with info on baffle diffraction.
Forgot the name..but i am sure you know it since u asked the question.

I think thats why you have the Anthony gallo and Morel spheres which are so well regarded. Even Cabasse has a spherical design.. but it has 3 concentric drivers, which sounds pretty good

B&W also hace a Spherical sub, newly introduced, citing the same reason.

yeah one of the B&W model has followed this kind of design but not perfect sphere. Yeah I am planning to build one like perfect spheres. Using such structures gives much onaxis focus and brilliant spatial imaging. But many dont follow this because of complexity of construction, little bit expensive and also not looking better as the other boxy speakers

Did you guys know we actually have a person who worked with Olson in RCA labs,here in India?He is V V Merchant, Indian AES founding member.Amazing man to have a conversation with.Yes a sphere is the best shape to have as an enclosure,the only issue is how do you consistently fabricate one.There have been many spherical enclosure speakers made in the past by all kinds of organisations and DIY dudes.My next attempt(maybe)is to make a spherical enclosure out of acrylic,expensive,but worth a try.It occupuies a lot of space so,one has to use a driver with very low VAS and Qt,to get an acceptable size.A true beauty is the next best enclosure type as determined by Olson.Check it out.
