hello friends anybody are dealing velodyne subwoofers in Bangalore? please tell me if so

I have contacted Music Ranch they gave me the price list as below.... velodyne spl 1200 Rs90,000 US price $3000 =Rs1,50,000 check this link for confirmation http://www.audioenz.co.nz/2004/velodyne_spl-1200.shtml velodyne DD 18 Rs1,90,000 US Price is $5000 = 2,50,000 and the rest of the list is like that... so the people at music ranch getting for such low price shipping charges from US+ shipping charges from Delhi ( from acoustic arts ) as well as profit with both of them + taxes so the total cost of the system must go far beyond the prices they gave.. so how is it possible? |

Hi Sandeep, The higher prices could be the list prices. Street prices are generally much lower. There is something known as dealers' discount. The dealer buys goods in bulk from the manufacturer, which entitles him to a discount, part of which he passes on to the customer. This is one explanation. The others could be closeouts, or a dealer selling refurbished stuff, which would obviously be priced lower. Please note, I am only talking of the possibilities, in general terms. In no way do I imply this of the dealer you mention, I haven't the slightest idea of their operations. They could be very well carrying on a brisk trade in Velodyne subs, thereby obtaining a sizeable discount from the manufacturers. Cheers |

Hi Bigears, An economics scholar expalined the phenomena : Manufacturer deliberately lists Model X higher at maybe $1000 and dealers get em for $600, so all overheads + profit price of dealer is maybe $700, So buyers get attracted towards low pricing at dealer level and buy em like hot cakes.Hifi components are not like other commodities where you compare one to another and determine the dollar to quality value, thus VFM is determined by the buyer who normally invests emotionally and dealers end up with not only good markups but high sales as well, manufacturer also in turn gets huge profits.So it's battle won both ways for dealers and manufacturer. |
