Any suggestions ?

Hi Ravi,

I saw all those I mentioned in my previous mail at Yodobashi Camera, in Kawasaki.

I visited LAOX of Akhiabara also. But the stock at Yodobashi is much more than in Akhiabara.

Can anyone explain me why MC are good ? The person attending me was telling me that MCs have very low power output. Is it that with MCs the clarity is better but gain is lesser (that means one need superior amps is it ?) ?

Sourav, Laox is mainly consumer oriented, so you may not find extensive TT stuff there. There are some specialized audio shops in Akihabara that have a mind boggling variety of high end audio stuff - maybe you could check one of those out. Also, more often than not, the opinions and info from japanese salesmen can be trusted completely as they are honest and genuinely helpful... so you could get a lot of info from them - if only one of them can speak english

Hi Ravi,

Thanks a lot for the information regarding the high-end audio shops in Akhiabara.

However, though we searched a little bit around LAOX for the high end shops we could not figure out onw. If you have already visited such shops can you give me some direction and name of such shops ?

Sourav, these are usually located in the backstreets, behind the akihabara JR station. Check out Hino audio - the address is available on the web (its spread across three units) -

Amp-ten: 1F Daiwa Bldg, 2-23-9 Kanda-sugacho. Tel: 03-3253-4709.

Speaker Craft: B1F Shibasaki Bldg, 2-23-1 Kanda-sugacho, Chiyoda-ku. Tel: 03-3253-5743.

Sound Gallery: 1F Nomura Bldg, 2-23-10 Kanda-sugacho. Tel: 03-3253-5222.

There are also a few good small shops if you dive into the thick inside the building right in front of the station... maybe 3F or 4F.
