Hello All

Have been a passive reader on this forum for a while now. I am now planning to take the plunge into hi-fi.
Some stuff upfront:

1. Do not have a big room, its about 80 to 120 sqft.
2. Love music and that will take up my listening, split would be 70-30 (audio vs movie)
3. Stay in Bangalore and have auditioned the Jamo and Kef speakers at Cinebels and ProFx resp.
4. Since I have a small room, and am thinking about a HT, thought that I will buy Bookshelves and get the low frequencies to be handled by the subwoofer.
5. Have a budget of 50K and plan to do the surround speakers at a later date. Will use my existing small speakers as surround.
6. I like the Coda 70 and the Jamo E825.

Now my questions:
1. Do I still think of the floorstanders, immaterial of the room size? If yes I liked the E855 and the Kef Q5.
2. Where can I see the Wharfedale and other Speakers in Bangalore?
3. What is the exact address of the Music Ranch person in Jayanagar?
4. Are there other options that I can consider?

All suggestions are welcome. Help!

Hi,

You can contact NPS Electronics if you are interested in Dali (another Danish speaker company). Their contact number - Nagraj - 22221626.

Absolute Phase (contact is Prithvi - 98440 94669) is a dealer in Acoustic Energy speakers, Cambridge Audio etc.

The Wharfedale Diamond 9 series has just been released in Mumbai last weekend. They seem to be getting good reviews from What Hi-fi etc. The bookshelves will be worth a look.

Friends in Mumbai - How was the exhibition and the new stuff?

Cheers

hi, I went to the exhibition and found pretty much the same kind of stuff...Nobody showing us a quantum leap.
Jamo is decent..I too like the E825 bookshelves. E855 are good for ther price and if the pricing of 2 bookshelves + sub is more than the E855, I would go with the E855 anytime.

Same with KEF Q5.

Wharfedale 9 were OK. Again the standard wharfedale good value for money.

Manek.

HI!

Regarding KEF - I found Coda 90 better than Coda 70 and Q 5
