Good speakers. But they do give you an impedance dip of 2.9 ohms at 118hz but I think your amp should manage that fine.

The 816 v floorstander. Were they around for a demo?

My gutt feel is if they are done as well as the 826v you would get as good a speaker at much less. But then listening is believing. The 826 will dish out stronger bass due to its two dedicated bass drivers and has the technical advantage of the dedicated driver for midrange.

From the spec sheet it looks that the 806, 807 and the 816 could be very good candidates for tubes....I finally found the speaker I could recommend to my pal who was looking for speakers with this exact spec.

If specs could dictate the sound of speakers, we'd be designing perfect ones all the time!

....And I agree with you viren, 100%. But he was looking for a bookshelf speaker of around 90+db and nominal 8 ohm load.

That's what I meant, nothing more.

Yes, specs don't mean much until you have plugged it into the system and heard it. But atleast its a start for him for what he was looking for.

Different strokes for diffrent folks :-)
