I studied yesterday's Times Of India clip, and from what I read, the Blue Foods sale was a REALLY good deal for SC.

He really sold only a PART (yes majority) of GOODWILL for Rs 150 Crores while retaining ALL is Real Estate and running hotels !

The deal was done apparently 2 months ago, and he probably would get no-where near that money for 'goodwill' today, with Dark Clouds of recession looming...

It does not look like a distress sale, but a well timed business decision.

Correct, Manek. I am not receiving any such pieces of news either. Prices of certain hi-fi gear + accessories have not dropped much. A dealer that I know used to give 20% off regularly & is not offering 25% off. Other internet dealers are offering closer to 30% off. Certain used gear, if hot, is holding up its re-sale value very well. People are not willing to let those items go for low-ball prices. I have tried to tempt them for a few items that I have interest in right now.
I also understand that most dealers have reduced or eliminated stock & are charging 15-20% re-stocking fees if you return a custom order item. Also understand that if one has to repair an item thru the dealer the time is fairly long esp. if the gear is imported as they dealer/distrib has to order the part from overseas. This happened to a friend's friend who needed new xformers for his Art Audio tube amp.
