Dynaudio Audience 72 with .

Try giving a listen to Plinius 9100 Integrated amp. They gel very well with Dynaudios. If you are in Mumbai, you can actually listen to this exact combo at The Soundsmiths.

If you liked the Naim they are an excellent choice. very dynamic with very good dynamic current capability.

definitely a better choice than Musical Fidelity who in these times are not value for Money.

The Arcam is also a very nice choice so in the end it depends on what you liked

Do test out dynamic music with bass with both amps before you decide as that maybe what can differentiate the two..

The Nait5 is definitely a good amp. They have a cult following. But isn’t the 50 watts / channel a bit too low for an inefficient speaker like the dyn 72 ?

What you said that is right. I was also thinking the same before audition. But the dealer suggested me with Dyn 72 that is goes best apart from Arcam 80/90 or Musical Fidelity. MF sounded good but little bit bright. With Naim Nait the balance is incredible. However, I don't know yet what will happen if I play the system in my house instead of the delaer's acoustically treated room.

I've yet to audition Arcam - though last time I auditioned Arcam with Jm Lab amd B&W I didn't like it.

May be I need to get more number of auditions before taking any call. Also thought to get yu guys viewpoints.

How much does the naim nait cost in India ? Do they have power amps ?
The nait will drive them fine at moderate to reasonably loud levels. It is only when you get those cd’s with lower recording level and you want to blast them a bit that you may run into trouble. The amp may start sounding “ shouty “ instead of composed and effortless. Headroom is important.
Frankly I have not heard the Naim. They may be alright due to good design. I can’t say unless I listen.

I'm getting the Naim Nait here in San Francisco. It is costing here around 1500 USD + tax.

I do see the point that the combo might not be able to drive low gain cds (though I'll mainly use it for phono). Next time when I go to take the audition I'll carry some CD with songs which were originally recorded long back. Thanks for the input.

However, do you think any other amp would be more suitable with Dynaasudo Audience 72 which can even effortlessly play even older recordings ?

Aah.. in the US you have many many options too many in fact

I think you can check around at inmate systems in Audiogon (Which also has Bombaywallahs awesome one) and Audio asylum as well to get a long list of potential auditions.

Also try Naim Nait with Naim Speakers - the combination is great. Very wide soundstage and excellent imaging.

If you like separates, you may want to pick up an odyssey-audio stratos for around 1200 $ and mate it with an entry level tube preamp from Rogue-audio and be done with it. It may run your bill around 2k$ but it is worth it. Both have fantastic after sales service also. I have seen this combo being used by some at the audio circle forum and at AA. There are other good combos and brands that come to mind. Most are small niche players in the US but they are much more expensive.

But as dhawan said, if you have not bought the speakers, look for more efficient speakers and you have lot more amps to consider. As Arj suggested, that place is full of options. Research some more and you could end up with some gems. Check out audioasylum, audiocircle etc……

If you are in SFO, checkout SF stereo and The Analog Room in San Jose (if you have not already)...you'd find some good stuff there and good advice too...

Also check out Monarchy Audio...I think they are based out of SFO...they have some very good VFM amps...
