Hi,

First of all, you have the correct replacement laser.

There may be other issues:

Did you adjust the laser? On this picture you will see the VERY SMALL potentiometer for adjusting the laser diode current.


It is in the center of the printed circuit board. A small square component with adjustable center-ring. Be carefull not to damage the trim-pot. You'll need a VERY small screwdriver. Also adjust only a few degrees in either direction. You are adjusting the laser-diode current and excessive current will assure an untimely death of your laser Adjust a little clock-wise, re-assemble and check. If OK then If not, dis-assemble and adjust the same small amount anti clock-wise. Re-assemble and check. You'll get the idea
The above instruction goes for those without an oscilloscope and some experience on how to use it
2)
Some times the damping rubber bearings of the laser-unit (Traverse-unit) are worn out and the unit is hanging at a tilted angle. The rubbers are positionno. 107/108 at page 30 (32) of the service-manual that I have. You are welcome to have a copy if you PM me with your e-mail address.
