Traditional Hi-Fi and speakers under threat? and quality

Hi all,

I'm looking for opinions/thoughts & facts if there is good reason to think Hi-Fi and speakers are a slowly dying market because of Headphones/Earphones technology? (especially wireless ones).

Also, is it true that 'speakers' will always be superior sound quality over any Headphones/Earphones? (I think this because distance between speaker and listener [more air space] means quality will 'always' be better in speakers. Im not 100% sure. So how much has air space [and even air quality] to do with influencing sound quality?).

I'd think you might be wrong here. This is a German-speaking forum for a lot less people than there are on head-fi.org - just to name just one of many english-language forums.

Why don't you go over to

and ask your questions there?

A lot of people from here go there too.

Concerning your question, the Hi-Fi market is doing well imho, evern blossoming. Nothing to do with Bluetooth, Airplay etc, which are someting entirely different.
