A brand-new TDA-1541A dac for sale.

* Digital input reclocked with precision clock and CS8414, to reduce jitter from transmission

* Parallel TDA1541A in a classic and proven circuitry

* Over designed power supplies...total 5 different PSU (no 7815 and cheap parts). Critical caps in signal path are all imported Nichicon & Philips capacitors.

* Output stage with Amprex 6DJ8 and Panasonic film capacitor (imported from Digikey,US) and only metal film resistors are used.

I know the whole assembly does not look good. Too much has been packed into a very small space...but more is better for audio (than less for good looks...what the chinese brands do)

The sound is very similar to my own personal DAC that some of our friends have heard in my place. (My personal DAC uses the same circuitry, but instead of TDA1541A, I use PCM1704)

The top panel is currently out for power-coating, as it had a few minor scrathes. Will be ready for delivery by Wednesday.

Price : Rs.38k.

This DAC has taken me over 3 weeks to assemble,test and fine-tune. Most of the assembly time was spent on reducing hum and noise level.

This is NOT a regular production model. This is part of my clearance sale to dispose some of my R&D products....done purely for the sake of science and not for any profit. Do not expect another of this DAC to me made. Though i would be most happy to help incase you want to do this on your own (Cannot supply any components/parts for your project though).

Home Demo not possible, but you are most welcome to bring any DAC/Cd-Player of your choice for a shoot-out.

Chassis can be upgraded, if you can spend more money...but purely for the "looks" and WAF

For anybody looking for a DAC , this may be a very good option.
BTW,Sivas personal DAC was A/B'd with a Reimyo and held its own !

Hi Siva,

Does this have a USB input ?

or only SPDIF ?

Amp_Nut,

The DAC has only one SPDIF signal. USB is not supported.

You could however get a USB-SPDIF convertors from the net.

For power - you can use one of the already available power supplies....which are all over-sized and would easily support this load.

Can't be quite. So, the DAC has been further upgraded...

1) The main DAC board has been replaced with hi-end coupling caps...more than 40 of them.

1.1) The new DAC board also has 1% dale resistors.

2) All caps are panasonic on the DAC and also in its power supply (low impedance, a.electrolytic caps...the best that is available)

3) You have the option of reclocking to 48Hz, by chaning a setting...so two precision clocks.

4) The main coupling cap on the output is now a hovland musicap.

Now for the bad news..

Cost is now Rs.49k/-
