Hi all,

Wonder if there is anyone who does cryogenic treatment of cables and electronic components in India.

Secondly has anyone here heard the difference between an untreated and a treated cable or component ?

ha ha...Arj...funny

Bhagwan...what would you say the difference is ?

Secondly, would it not be good to find a method of cyogenic treatement ? maybe talk to educational institutes or research labs who have the equipment who could help out ? A goal worth pursuing you think ?

liquid nitrogen should be a good way of cryogenic treatment.. since it is used in hospitals you should be able to get it if u have contacts in that area

A college pal & audiophile of mine, today holds a senior position at Philips Holland.

When I wrote to him several years ago, of the reported sonic improvements in cryogenically treating a CD, he actually tried it.

Said it created a Huge mess... and was practically difficult...

He had to junk the CD.

So I guess it does need special handling skills.

I aklso suspect that ordinary insulation on Cables will crack when cooled to cryogenic temperatures.... Liquid Nitrogen, leave aside Liquid Oxygen ( used for MRI scanners ).

right.. i missed that. most substances would be horribly brittle at those temp. even metal is known to shatter at a surprisingly small pressure

Amp nut....the cryo treatement, from what I have read the substance that needs to be cyroed must be lowered in temperature very slowly over a couple of days and the same goes for bringing it back to normal room temp.

They are both there in Pune @ Ajay's room [Cadence Demo Room].

If you guys feel like it and are inclined, then a trip can be taken to Pune & have a listen for yourself.

Mr. Shirke now owns both Cadence & Siltech.
So all the A / B can be done 'in house'. This would be a nice first hand experiance.

Suggestions ?

Manek, I believe, you know the Cadence guys well. You could try and follow up, see if they are opne to the idea !!!

Thanks.

P.S. Maybe this could become a Forum Field Trip ???
