Here's a sad thought. Not THE SADDEST.

If people talk only about the speakers they audition AND BUY, will they not end up "bragging about the brands they own"?

A hidden message here??? Like er....torjan horse!!

Brag-let them do it, Iam not bothered about biased opinions, but let the stuff be more educative than trying to market the brands people own. It's nothing but creating pseudo image.

Hi All,

I expected some serious techie stuff, but all members seem to be below average in replies.C'mon guys get out of this bull **** and discuss things which would enhance our knowledge.

we do discuss tech stuff only not that often. but if it is tech u want to talk about then i suggest you put ur queries on diyaudio.com as you'll find some of the most technically sound people who have first hand experience.this forum is what i feel to be a stepping stone for those who are interested in audio. that's my view.

All I find here is people bragging about the brands they own - one stupidly puts up views about speakers which he auditioned and has no intention of buying at all whereas the other always makes a bottom line

well lets face it not everyone is going to admit that he made a fool out of himself even when he knows that he didn't exactly get what he spent. obviously you will make a comparison with the stuff you have got when you go out to audition new stuff. that's not as bad as u make it sound. i think you are being very cynical about it. after all its you who have to make the desicion as to what u are going to buy. this forum is for opinions only not hardcore facts(though there are some very useful hints which are published in other sites but some of them have already tried them first hand and they share their thoughts on it.)
what you call as stupid seems like it applies to almost all of us on this forum. i mean i already have a system but according to you i must not put my views on any new system i leisten to. well that's just absurd. u are clearly out of ur mind and maybe were drunk when u posted this but that's not for me to judge. i listened to speaker sworth over a lakh(Proac) at Prithvi's place. hell yeah!. i know i will not be buying them but that should'nt deter me from putting my views across on them for someone else who is in the market for such high end speakers.
i suggest you express some restraint and think before you post more crap on this forum.

so there. i have said my piece. i know this is a very harsh reply form my side but it is one fitting for your post.

Benkenobi,

I'm not posting crap here and definetly not drunk. I'm not stopping anyone from auditioning stuff which you cannot afford, but what pisses me is creating pseudo image of a product here. I read bad comments about some products here and members have made those comments without seeing them forget auditiong. So be transparent in your views and give honest opinions instead of confusing new members.

And to your point :

i mean i already have a system but according to you i must not put my views on any new system i leisten to. well that's just absurd.

I appreciate that everyone should get a chance to listen to all kinds of combo's, but what I noticed is few members get back here and claim the rat sh** what they own is better than what they saw or have auditioned.

well, it is up to the person who reads the posts to make up his mind whether to believe whatever he reads on this forum. for that reason alone you cannot stop people from posting on this forum. be smart. take the views audition for urself and make a desicion. that's what smart people do. in my case i did not actually audition the Nad or the Def tech 100(had heard the def tech 80) but still went ahead and bought them . i have no regrets. the views of this forum on the products i got prior to buying then was very transparent and forthcoming. i don't know what particular posts u are referring to.. but, i am very happy with my desicion and will welcome anyone who wishes to lend a ear to my system. i did the best i could with the resources my parents extended to me and i am very satisfied with the setup i have. i know i will upgrade my system as soon as i start earning(just a couple of months more).
the only sad thought is that my receiver is not capable enough to drive my wharfies while watching a movie. i need to turn up the volume almost upto -6db. but it is still excellent for the money.

some claims may be overexaggerated(even mine) but it is only human nature to show off what u got.u know what i mean

anyway, chill out man. take it easy. take the opinions but upto u to make the desicion. that's all i have to say.
Regds,
Benks

its really good. but still needs atleast another 70 -80 hours of break in. it will take some time. the bass is not boomy at all and the gain is set at around 35%. more than enough bass for my room(14X20). i am using the wharfedale diamond8 center and the surrounds are an old pair of aiwa (mini hifi system) speakers. good enough but will upgrade to the diamond8.1s when i have the cash ready. i am saving up to buy a Nad CDP to pair up with my Nad amp.
will keep u guys posted on how the subwoofer performs.

Hi All,
This is the first time I am writing on this forum, Let me introduce myself I am an electronics engineer working on Embedded System Software. I have been going through a lot of messages on this forum in the past few days,
The Purpose: I am looking for a Home Theatre system for myslef.
I have always been inspired by Music and having a good music system, I have tried assembling building some Audio DEcks from ready to assemble kits etc. but i thing wasn't too good at the things. Now I plan to begin my journey towards owning a good system, I plan to spend something like 25-30K INR as of now, I can settle down for a 5.2 system now and or even a Good 5.1 receiver and 2.1 speakers for now and add the rest after some time, I hope that makes sense for you people

I am currently at Chennai, India, So if you could please suggest me what is the best I can get in this budget and where in chennai. I big thanks to you for going through this message and a bigger thanks if you intend to give a good piece of advice.

Thanks
ePandit

SURE they will !

Even more so if they have built it DIY !

That is why each PURCHASER Must hear for HIMSELF before buying.

Ditto for magazine reviews. I have noticed that Most magazine reviews will highlight the Good points, and mot mention the short commings....

Read carefull and in-between the line. Like have they mentiomed that the HF was extended ? If not mentioned... then it probably was not, and the equipment cold be delivering great LF slamm ( if mentioned) or great voice reproduction ( if mentioned) but lacking in HF air and ambience... often the case with NAD.

Nah, this is NOT a NAD bashing post, they have some GREAT attributes... but extended HF is usually not part of the goods...
