I really dont like speaking ill about anyone. But this guy takes the cake at Sound & Vision Hyderabad.
When ever I call him he is busy. I guess I am too small for him or he cant manage his business. He does have a better collection of speakers tho - Quad, Whardale, Mission, Dali is what he said he could demo for the last 1 month !!!

vinod...then give your dealer an ultimatum.....does he give you an appointment or not ! Quad are definately a far better product than BA to my ears and eyes. So why dont you just walk in and atleast see the products on display. You may get to audition them as well.
If you can audition the 21L and 22L. Very nice for the price.

Otherwise there is always Prithvi's invite to bangalore. I guess that not too far away..is it ?

Well, I did talk again and he is much much better now. Ultimately I decided on the Dali and NAD. Hopefully it will be delivered tommorow. I had almost decided to get it from Prithvi and talked to him on it.
I must put down my expereince with dealers. In hyderabad there is a dealer called USK Electronics. Now I had talked to him and he wanted 21 for NAD and 33 for a BA speaker. Well, Sound and Vision wanted only 19 for NAD and gave me a discount on the speaker as well. When I mentioned this to the other dealer he promptly reduced the price of the BA speaker from 33 to 25 !!! Says there is this offer going on for new year...
I really dont know who to beleive.

Hi! Vinod,
Congrats on your purchase. THe actual price of the 320bee varies from state to state, and should cost anything above Rs 19K - Rs 22K.

I think yours USK dealer is pulling a fast one on you and gave you a discount to get the order. Great for you.

I have never believed in discounts and have refused sales if discounts were asked. Really glad that finally you have a system you like.

If you want I can supply FINESSE jumper cables that can be used in place of the rubbish metal jumpers in the 320bee. All my customers are using Murthy's fine cable jumpers and they are only priced at Rs 500/- for a pair. You will notice a huge difference in the sound after changing the jumpers.

the jumpers are a good idea.
Prithvi, what cable is used for Mr. murthy's jumpers, Are they one of the cables he uses for his interconnects ?
What connectors ? does he connect only the live(+ve) wire or does ne connect both the live and the ground in the jumper ?

The Jumpers are 6" long cable to cable, the best RCA male connectors are used. The cables are the same Teflon coated pure silver. All my nad customers are using them instead of the rubbish jumpers given by nad.

Yes, it does make a difference. I have fabricated my own jumpers from the interconnects I use. I have replaced the metal jumpers on my nad.

The main reason for doing so I feel is that the supplied jumpers are naked metal connector which attract all sorts of emi/rfi like an antenna. Using an insulated interconnect makes a small difference but nevertheless noticable.

BTW I also bought a few very ordinary RCA plugs, taped them with teflon tape and covered the open rca jacks at the back. Some difference there as well.

Manek,
The CARDAS type of RCA caps are avaiable, Mr. Murthy has made them too. I will do all the RCA jacks when I get the consignment from him.

Try it and see. Actually the plugging of all rca jacks did not make as much improvement as the jumper. So the jumper definately makes a differece, caps may or may not.

So Finally my system is up and running. I just love the sound and spent a good 4 hours last night just listening.

Now my next question. Right now Iam using the interconnect stuff ( whatever is between the amp & speaker and amp & player) that was supplied to me by Sound & Vision. These were given free and he did suggest to go for better ones.

Can the gurus of this forum explain to me in simple terms the various components. I did hear terms like RCA, jumpers, Caps, OFC etc. Please explain this and give me an opinion of what I need to do for that.

Sound & Vision also supplied me a spike guard - Do I need a stabiliser?

BTW Sound & Vision Hyderabad does quite a good job after all.

OFC - Oxygen free copper

Interconnects(cd to amp cables) and speaker cables(amp to speaker cables) are made of OFC.

The connectors(plugs) you see on either side of the interconnects are called RCA connectors. The speaker cables you usually have banana pins or spade connectors(which look different from RCA plugs)

Whats brands does sound and vision sell ? An entry level branded interconnect with its matching speaker cable would in order I think.
