ATC scm 11

Hi all,
Can anybody here shed some information about the ATC scm 11, its sealed type box unlike other speakers, it would be great if someone share the audition experience with its sealed sound.

i have heard the SCM 10 (or was it8). needs a poweerful amplifier , but a great speaker. its specs may sound as though they are Bass Shy but when you hear it it has one of the most articulate bass as well as a great midrange. I personaly prefer a little more spark in the treble but the folks with me at that time thought it was very neutral.

I personally feel it is a really great speaker range..if you can get it at a good price in INdia

Do you know where one ca hear it in mumbai ?

Brings back a lot of fond memories. Arj I can quite relate to your bass reporduction experience.

I love ATC.
Good products.
They will become rather 'affordable' after the Pound got 'hammered' down to Rs. 73/-
If you have axcess to them - go for it !!
I have always liked ATC sound.
A similar product is PMC - Also British & available in India - officially with demo.
The options have opened up.
There is also Genelec.
Just returned from its showroom in Mumbai. Great VFM Speakers....

I am trying to get some information for ATC and got to know there is a official dealer named cinema focus in Chennai, i have emailed them, still waiting for the response.

There is a distributor/dealer in chennai for ATC named Cinema Focus,i spoke to the person Razak,very nice and soft guy,he briefed me about the speakers scm 11 and 19 both and said his place is the only option for the audition. He has quoted me 129k for scm11 and 197.5k for scm19.
Still thinking about

The pricing seems to be ok considering their US price of around 3750USD.

if you can , do listen to the Amphion ion as well. i have been hearing osm really good stuff on that as well

Yup. I too have been hearing some good things about the Amphions. The Argon2 annivarsary.
The wave guided tweeter kicks in at 1200 hz

Amazing. I have not heard them so no comments.
There is another speaker with wave guided technology which is creating waves these days.
Very well reviewed and respected among the audiocircle users.

I have heard the original Argon. it just did not do rock well !

I heard the new models are better but never got to hear it.

True...speakers, unlike children, need to be heard not seen

. no other way of knowing if you will like them or not.

The ATC need POWER and lots of it so aplifier matching is important. they are relatively insensitive.

true...i will listen to them before taking any decision, One of my friend here is buying Be-718 so i would definitely step behind him

The Amphions are sold in India.
I 'stock' them for Nexus Audio Video.
Maybe they are there in my Warehouse.
You may want to check with the Indian D & D for price etc.

The ATC is a good bet.
I would recommend PMC to you.

Genelec too is an option to consider.

All these are available in India.

I do not want to recommend anything that is not available here.
Listen & buy.

Make a trip to Mumbai / Bangalore.
Listen to all the products & then decide, what you like & what will suit your taste.
