Friends, This weekend I am planning to demo Klipsch and Paradigm floorstanders at Japanico International, Kolkata. I called them up for models available and prices. But they asked me to go over to their place. Before goin, I would like u to suggest which models to check in my budget of 30-35k, so that I have some background knowledge of these models. Thanks |

I presume the Klipsh Reference bookshelf might be in that range..perhaps teh entry level floors as well.. listen and you shall find out if you like it or not. they need carefully matching electronics, but they have a very nice dispersion and can really rock.you should PM sub boss for info on that paradigms are different sound good But from what i understand in their quest of straight line response and linearity , may have sold out on the musicality angle ( do not know about their models now) the Monitor series should be in that price range and you might like them as they are easy to drive and neutral |

Koushik, As far as I have gathered some info about Klipsch, its their referrence series which is worth buying, others (Synergy series etc) aint that good. I havent heard any of their other speakers apart from their Referrence series RF3 and they sound good....but first hand owners say that Klipsch gets good only from their referrence series onwards.... Arj has rightly mentioned that Klipsch requires very very careful matching of amps and NAD320BEE (which you have shortlisted) doesnt go well with Klipsch (thats just for your info) hence when you are looking at Klipsch look at it as a package...decide which amps would go well and things like that...normally Klipsch likes low-powered high-resolution amp. A good class A or a well built tube amp with even 10-15 Watts per channel can do wonders for you. But all this requires availability of good equipments and careful selection of those. So do some good amount of analysis on them before you plunge in. SUB_BOSS can help you here. |

You are somewhat right Abhi, but synergy series are very good VFM.
Please drop NAD as you can't go beyond 8 '0' clock.
I have read in Klipsh forums that some use 200 watt good power amps like Krell, ML and get fab results, but here we will narrow down to budget amps. Heck these are very revealing speakers and and just shiows up any diffrences easily so tread carefully. Let me know what optiins you have on hand and I will try and help you. RF 63's seem good to me give it a try and let us know what partnering equip was used. |

I visited their website and found no RF3 listed. Its discontinued. So probably they will not be available. The models listed within my budget are probably - RF 10 ($500) and RF 52 ($598). RF 52 - 96dB, 8 ohm, 17.3 kg, 34 Hz to 23 KHz +/- 3dB, 5.25"*2+1"*1 (built from 2006) RF 10 - 95dB, 8 ohm, 15.9 kg, 59 Hz to 20 KHz +/- 3dB, 4.5"*2+1"*1, has Integral 5" (12.7 cm) square 90 ° x 60 ° Tractrix Horn as High Frequency Horn (built from 2004) Have anyone heard these. Japanico also stocks Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer. Which amps will match Klipsch better. Also, what about Paradigm. [Beitrag von kousik_s am 05. Sep 2006, 11:02 bearbeitet] |

of the lot the RF10 has the best midrange although lacks in bass. from what i heard in klipsch the midrange is pretty good as long as the woofer is around 6" but beyond that the midrange suffers although the bass improves tremedously to me the tractrix tweter (Horn) renders cymbals exceptionally well and delicately and is able to control dispersion very well I had an RF3II (And surprisingly preferred it with the NAD than rotel), but thought they were more exciting than the paradigms which did everything well but without much "Enthu" ! |

I think there is one..youll find it in the klipsch website. But honestly i would not expect you to like them since they are very unlike Sonus Fabers in every aspect except in being musical and if you listen exclusivly to female vocals with low instruments (Norah jones type) you will not be particularly like them. but put a rock piece (i loved the way Santana freaked out in it) and youll start tapping your feet |

Hi Arj, Thanks for the pointer... The Klipsch website list only a Chennai disty / dealer. I love rock, and want to hear speakers that are more efficient than the Extremas.... widen my field of view... |
