1> If we were to assemble a class AB power amp where do we start with.
2> What are the most critical aspects one has to bear in mind while choosing compnents.
3> How do we determine values for respective components..is there a yard stick measurement??

I belive in overall balance of the systems, be it an amp, building or automobile. Emphasising one aspect of circuit design or use of a speciality component guarantees a complete product, ok complete product is like the search for the holy grail. So how can I point my fingers at any one or two variables!!

Fine ani..but if you were to start one on your own what would your start point and your destination be...

OK

1. Decide on Solid state or Tube.

2. Reliable and so called audio quality capacitors and resistors

3. Assuming that you mean the importance of each stage of design like quantity of negative feed back, lack of global feedback, differential input stages, driver for power stage, power supply etc , I have to stick on to my earlier post.

This is a WIDE canvas, and I think its probably better to answer those questions in parts....

I am going to take the liberty of starting 3 seperate ( maybe more ? ) topic threads, to address these design trade off issues.

Let me share with the group, that this thread started with a PM I received from Sub Boss. He noticed that in my profile, I had mentioned "Amplifier Circuit Design" as a hobby, and he asked me if I could elaborate....

I thought that it would be nice to include the discussions on the forum, and gain from the collective knowledge of all the members....

I am still unsure, to what technical ( circuit detail) level would interest this forum.

So if you guys would rather exclude this stuff from here, please let me know.
