I dont think so!. Anyhow its really sad to see this forum close down.

I have decided to open a Yahoo Group called "Absolute Phase HI-FI Forum" & each member of Hi-forum.net is most welcome to join.

It would be nice to continue from where we left off.

hifi-forum.de will have a lot of German members. The good thing aboout .net is that most of the members are Indian. There's a certain closeness, familiarity and (if I may say so) a community feeling. I doubt whether .de will be the same.

You are right . It will not be the same. All threads are invariably in German and to figure out ours in that will be difficult

No guys, i stumbled across this site as when it was under hifi-forum.de..

There was a sepearate section for English based posts..
i guess we'll only know after this site is linked to the original forum.

Oh..just checked out the original site.i guess ur right..
we don't have an english section there..not now anyway..
i guess it would be stupid continuing our discussions there with all the germans....would be too confusing..
better to start our own yahoo group...

When you log in at www.hifi-forum.de you will see the forum just like you see it by now. You just have to log in.

We are not shutting down the english section, we are only shutting down the domain www.hifi-forum.net
You will be able to continue discussing via hifi-forum.de (The login page is german, but after login everything will change to english).

just logged in and read about the panic the notice created.

As AH says, we will be able to log on and be members of the forum....its just that the forum now will be under the banner of hifi-forum.de

AH is a man of his word :-) Our home is safe.

As of now I'm logged in to the .de site. So the panic has died down. But you know sometimes I think, what if we had a .in site or .co.in site. Why do we Indians need to get together on a German site? Ur an IT man, stevieboy and myself are creative people (read advertising creative professionals) sbfx is willing to chip in with server space, I'm sure we can manage something. Whaddya say??

yeah. we already have a name ready courtesy shahrukh. but the only thing everyone seems to be forgetting in the rush to be on our own site is that there is a wealth of archives here on hifi forum which we probably might not be able to transfer and which draws new members who search for stuff through google. do a search for anything and 99% chance is that an old thread will pop up. we lose this advantage and the wealth of knowledge archived here. i think we just stay on here and have fun. new members will come.

Does it really matter where we log on as long as we have a good enthusiastic bunch of guys ? This is the age of global communications.

BTW this site started as an international english forum, not an Indian forum. It just so happened that there are many Indians on the site. Whats wrong with others from all walks of life sharing their experiences ?

I dont see the point of moving elsewhere. Why re-invent the wheel when its already there for you to use, besides hosting websites like this is just not web space. Its a lot of time and money for the software and maintenance and a lot of other things. I agree with stevieboy...this is the best place to be. Besides, one cant move content..it belongs here on hifi-forum.
