TX-NR676E HDR Passthrough not working

Hallo!

My apologies for writing in english. I moved to Germany recently and I'm currently learning the language

I've adquired an Xbox One X which supports 4k and HDR. My TV is a LG Oled B8 which fully supports this modes.

The problem I'm having is that when I connect the Xbox through the Receiver for passthrough, 4K is working as expected but HDR is not. As soon as I connect the Xbox directly to the TV the problem is solved so my guess is that there's something wrong with the HDR passthrough. I'm using all certified high speed HDMI cables and I'm using the same ones when I connect directly to the TV or through the receiver so I can confirm the cables are not the issue.

The receiver is updated to the latest version 1121-5020-3070-0011.

I've also found online about switching Standard vs. Enhanced modes by holding BD/DVD button and pressing the Power button but nothing appears on my receiver screen allowing to switch those modes when I press that combination of keys (https://forums.redflagdeals.com/anyone-having-issues-getting-4k-hdr-work-onkyo-receiver-ps4-pro-xbox-one-x-2280785/)

I've read all the technical specifications and the main reason I bought this receiver was to be able to passthrough 4K and HDR. Without this feature it's useless for me.

Hey there, never had any issues with my PS4 Pro on HDR passthrough on the same model as you have.

However, you can check the following (found this on google a while ago, this is apparently not explained in the users manual).

Hold the physical button at your receiver of input source (for instance BD/DVD). While holding it, push the On / Standby button to cycle between HDR standard and HDR extendend. (Make sure to use the physical button on the receiver, not at your remote!)

I would bet your input source is on standard right now and after you switch it to extended it's gonna work.

Hi! You are a genius. I found something similar on the internet but I was doing it with the remote control and not the physical buttons so nothing was happening.

I still can’t believe this is not specified in the manual. Thanks and thanks and thanks it works as expected now. You saved the day.
