Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury's departure from Dimension Films' new Hellraiser film was not a sour farewell after all.
An industry insider tells ShockTillYouDrop.com under strict anonymity the French duo behind this year's artsy bloodbath Inside, are in discussions with Bob Weinstein at Dimension Films about another potential film to make their American debut.
Our source tells us Weinstein has offered them an opportunity to helm Halloween 2, the inevitable follow-up to Rob Zombie's Halloween. And even though Bustillo and Maury recently said they were developing another new French thriller, Snow (details), these Halloween 2 rumblings corroborate whispers we've been hearing that the pair were close to committing to a U.S. picture.
Zombie has expressed publicly his disinterest in helming another Halloween. The writer-director's reworking of Carpenter's slasher milestone made $78 million worldwide.

toll, jetzt führt Rob Zombie noch nicht mal regie..

habe mir den ersten teil jetzt erst angeschaut und mir gefällt er. besonders die verfilmung seiner kindheit fande ich sehr geil..

Dann könnte es ja mal was werden...ich fand das Halloween-Remake nämlich grauenhaft(schlecht). Ich finde, der Rob Zombie hat sich mit seiner stets gleichen Inszenierung mtlw. stark abgenutzt. Ein Christopher Nolan bei so einem Stoff wäre m.A.n. mal ganz innteressant...oder gar Michael Haneke..

uh oh naja, ich weiß ja nicht.. Funny Games ist schon ganz geil und Bennys Video noch ganz nett, aber alles andere kannste doch in die tonne kloppen.

Hm...Geschmackssache, aber ich würd noch Cache´und die Klavierspielerin mit zu den guten Hanekes´zählen. Ich könnte mir halt vorstelllen, dass so ein Regisseur dem Stoff mal ne ganz andere psychologische Substanz abgewinnen könnte... ;). Diese Rob Zombie-Filme find ich mtlw. alle gleich...der Inszenierungsstil von dem hat sich m.A.n. schon jetzt total abgenutzt...

Rob Zombie is re-teaming with Dimension Films to direct a follow-up to 2007's Halloween entitled H2.

Variety, who confirmed our news break (yet, sadly, offers no credit), says the new film will pick up where Zombie's reboot ended "following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted."

Sources tell us that Zombie's vision for the sequel - which will not resemble Rick Rosenthal's original second installment - is "crazy" and a "totally unique approach" for a next chapter.

"I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie tells Variety. "Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."

Tyler Mane will reprise his role as Michael Myers; it's unknown if Scout Taylor-Compton or Malcolm McDowell will encore as Laurie and Dr. Loomis, respectively.

Production begins in March with its release targeted for October (a similar turnaround on Zombie's first Halloween). Malek Akkad of Trancas International Films will produce alongside Spectacle Entertainment's Andy Gould.
