Der erste "Street Fighter" Film mit Jean-Claude Van Damme aus dem Jahre 1994, wird es jetzt wohl eine Fortsetzung geben. Capcom, Besitzer der Street Fighter-Rechte, plant angeblich einen zweiten Teil. Diesmal soll aber die hübsche Asiatin Chun-Li, und nicht Colonel William F. Guile, die Hauptrolle haben. Wer Chun-Li spielen soll ist noch nicht klar. Heisse Kandidatin ist aber Devon Aoki, die gerade mit der Prügelspielverfilmung Dead or Alive im Kinos zu sehen ist.

Passend zum 20. Geburtstag der Street Fighter Reihe im Jahre 2008 soll der Film in die Kinos kommen.

ich habe die DVD noch hier und fand den ersten Film gar nicht mal so schlecht,was meint ihr?

war damals als Bub im Kino und fand ihn dufte..heute..naja

Wenn das Sequel kein FSK 12 Film wird, gucke ich mir den an, ansonsten freue ich mich eher auf das hoffentlich bald kommende Bloodsport Sequel!

das stand schon letztes Jahr im Oktober bei cinefacts!

Natürlich nicht mit Jean Claude, aber immerhin...

Es gibt auch irgendwelche Universal Soldier Fake Fortsetzungen und das richtige Sequel. Genauso ists wohl hier, denn von den 3 weiteren Bloodsport Teilen ist ja wohl nur noch der 2. annehmbar. Der hoffentlich kommende nennt sich Bloodsport: An new Beginning und ist wieder mit fän dämme!

den ersten sah ich im zwarten alter von 12 jahren und fand ihn unter aller s..

der 2te teil kann mir gestohlen bleiben. Devon Aoki war naheliegend, hat sie ja schon mit DOA eine Hammer-Game-Verfilmung hingelegt

Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune will star in Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom's "Street Fighter," based on the popular Japanese vidgame franchise. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the actioner, set to begin lensing in March.
Kreuk, who plays Lana Lang in the CW's "Smallville," will star as martial artist Chun-Li. Duncan will play Balrog, while Klein is stepping into the role of Nash. Yune is taking on the mystical Gen.
Rounding out the cast are Moon Bloodgood, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Singapore's Edmund Chen and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei.
Producers are still casting the film's villain, Bison.
Andrzej Bartkowiak ("Romeo Must Die," "Exit Wounds") is directing from a script penned by "Voltron" scribe Justin Marks. Hong Kong fight choreographer Dion Lam ("The Matrix") is handling the extreme fight sequences.
Hyde Park chairman Ashok Amritraj and senior exec Patrick Aiello are producing. Vidgame publisher Capcom exec produces.
Project marks the second attempt at turning the "Street Fighter" game into a viable film franchise after Universal's 1994 version, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia.
Plot of the new pic is being kept under wraps but will focus on the Chun-Li character. Shooting will take place in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver.
Hyde Park and Capcom had originally wanted to release the pic to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the "Street Fighter" franchise; the first game bowed in arcades in 1987.

Hoffentlich wird der gut.
Die erste Verfilmung fand ich echt bescheiden.
Sehr gut hat mir Streetfighter 2 The Animated Movie gefallen.

Capcom Co., Ltd. today confirmed the main cast for its live-action Street Fighter movie based on the popular video game series.

The story revolves around Chun-Li, who will be portrayed by actress Kristen Kreuk ("Smallville"). Michael Clark Duncan plays Balrog, Neal McDonough is M. Bison, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas is Vega, Chris Klein plays Charlie Nash, and Rick Yune is the mystical Gen.

The film will be made in conjunction with Hyde Park Films, and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox for a scheduled 2009 worldwide release.

The Street Fighter movie is only one of many projects Capcom has planned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Street Fighter." Summer 2008 will see the Japanese arcade release of the much-anticipated "Street Fighter IV."

So far in week one, Michael Clarke Duncan has been doing what he does best... smashing sh*t up and having a flippin’ blast doing it. It’s also worth mentioning that this man does ALL HIS OWN STUNTS. And its not cuz there’s a shortage of 6 foot 6 inch, 275+ pound African-Americans in Thailand! After watching the man in action these past few days, I can say with complete confidence that this was truly the role he was born to play. Meanwhile, Chun Li, Cantana and 400 Thai extras have gotten a little...’too close for comfort’ in a scene that’s sure to capture the um...affections of all you male Kristin Kreuk and Josie Ho fans out there. And Nash and Maya are hot on the trail - busy chasing leads and getting’ along like gangbusters. Literally.

Are these pics of a movie or Smallville season: who cares. I think Steven Seagal would make a more convincing Chun Li. This movie will debut in the Guide Channel.

ich erwarte fürchterliches. sry, aber bei game-umsetzungen reagiere ich immer leicht angep***t. die vergangenheit hat ja gezeigt, dass meistens murks rauskommt. und dann auch noch neal mcdonough???? in einem SF film? och, bitte. werde ihn mir höchstwahrscheinlich nicht ansehen. den trailer finde ich auch nicht so besonders. und mal ehrlich, die gamer hier werden mir wohl recht geben, storytechnisch bietet SF keine so tolle filmvorlage, oder?
