After much thought and with the help of the forum members, I have now finalized on NAD 352 and Marantz CD 7300 to be paired with Quad 11L. The nagging doubt I have is about after sales and servicing of these products. After investing considerable amount of (hard earned!) money, one feels reassured if there is a service backup, should problems arise. I reside in Bangalore and Quad has a support service here. Unfortunately the distributors and service agents for both nad and marantz are located elsewhere (mumbai and delhi)and hence the uncertainty and doubt. Are there people to handle problems with these products and service them in bangalore? I look forward to the experiences and suggestions of the forum members on this issue. Thanks |

Thanks for the information. I hope they will honour international warranty with bill too. Meawhile I am quite surprised at the lukewarm response this posting has received in the forum. There are often long discussions about amps and cd players and members wax eloquent about the merits and demerits of one system or another. Fact is that many of these systems (which meet stringent standards of quality control) are manufactured outside the country. This begets the question whether adequate support and reliable service are available here for these components. After the initial euphoria of purchase weans off, one has to keep the fingers crossed that things continue to work well . What if there is hitch or a snag? There is no fun spending considerable amount of money if one is unsure of the continuance of support ( in this instance at bangalore ). This is an unsettling issue and can I look for some inputs and advice from learned and experienced members of the forum?? ![]() |

Hey sammygeorge, Up until now, I have had some minor problems with my receiver (IR not working) and dvd player. Since the receiver was covered under warranty i gave it to the shop where i purchased it from and later got to know that they gave it to Power electronics (Who market Torvin speakers) since they happen to be the official Yamaha service personnel in Chennai. So I went to their place and chatted up and found that they repair almost all of the brands that one can find in India. They were pretty knowledgeable too. Though I have yet to test the 'knowledge' part, i am atleast assured that after warranty period I atleast know of oneplace i can turn to. I also hunted around the same area and found a few used shop dealers. In one of them, there was a guy who repairs for his customers. He also knows of places where one can procure parts for different brands. So what I am implying is that you will need to look beyond your dealer since most electronics offer a year's warranty anyway. I am sure that Bangalore will surely have such places. Try looking at the local hardware market. |
