i have seen the technical details bet sony ns50p and phillips 642k.the only difference i found the video DAC.sony having it at 12bit/108MHz and phillips at 10bit/54MHz.i want to know if this really makes a difference in the video output thru component or s-video.thouh i am having a t.v with only s-video input...... the phillips plays divx and Mpeg4 codecs on the positive side.does nyone know if phillips 642k plays mp3's/jpeg photos written on to a DVD+R? as sony does! edges |

am sorry.. had not checked on the specs of the sony...yes the sony will theoritically have a better picture when viewed thru a progressive scan capable Tv, if u donot have one then both are on equal terms...check out the phillips by making a search on amazon.com.. am sure it plays all that u have asked about.. |
