The most painful amp swap ever.

Hi! Guys,

On Monday morning, at 6 amp, decided to clean all my amps and did a swap of the Arcam A70 from one rack to another and while removing the amp, it slipped from a height of 4 feet and the corner of the amp fell on on my left little toe.

Ouchhhhhhhhh! Busted my toe nail completely, cracked the toe nail bed into two, splintered the bone, exposed some of it,toe tip chopped too

Knowing us audio retailers, tried to save the amp from falling instead of my toe. We can't change, as have been doing it for over 20 years,

Well had to rush to HOSMAT at 6:30am, had an x-ray and found that there were many splinters and I had to undergo a surgery. HAd one finally at 4:30pm in the evening and had about 14 injections in total. Was in hospital for two days. Now on crutches.

Total cost of amp swap with pain: only about 30K

Moral of the story: Don't shift heavy electronics with slippers. Use heavy Military boots with steel toe caps.

The guys at HOSMAT sure did have a hearty laugh, but also managed to get an order from one of the doctors. You gain some, you loose some.

So looks like now guys have a blood relation with Arcam.

All you guys out there, pls take care while moving hi-fi equipment.

Out of action now for two weeks. Next time will not save the amp, save myself first. Damn the amp. Can get one always. Cant get a new toe
