Hi all

I own an Aiwa JAX TV-8 VCD hifi system.

It consists of an external fan at the back, which i think is supposed to work for ventilation and cooling purpose.

But I havent seen it running ever since i bought it. Does this fan ever work or my system has some problem.

It has never been opened, had any problems or serviced since i bought it 03 years back.

Does it heat up enough so the cooling from fan is required, if not don't bother. BTW is this a TV??

It is inbuilt, at the back of the system. just like you see at the back of a CPU's SMPS.

As long as it doesn't heat up not to worry too much, but if it does heat up then I think you are looking at faulty wiring to the fan circuitry or a faulty thermo or heck even a new fan..

Cheers mate

Hey Sub

is it the case that when the system reaches a particular temperature, only then the fan operates in order to cool down.

In any case i hardly use that system for my music needs. Its only on my weekends when i listen to it that to for an hour and two.

Ideally yes this is the case, but some budget systems do have a fan running always to eliminate the thermo
